CBDC NORTIP is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors representative of our region. Directors are selected based on specific criteria that ensure a balance between regional representation, qualifications, equity groups, ability to serve and suitability to serve.

Our jurisdiction has been divided into four regions. Each region has one to three representatives, depending on turnover and recruitment. Currently, we require new Directors in the Straits Region and the St. Anthony Basin Region. Expressions of interest to fill these vacancies can be forwarded to our office to the attention of the Chairperson or Executive Director

The Board operates under Conflict of Interest guidelines as well as exercising due care to ensure that the privacy of the client is protected. Our By Laws identify the mechanisms of governance within the organization. Through the Executive Director the Board manages a staff of four.

Directors serve for a three year term, at which time their tenure is reviewed and may potentially be re-selected for a second term. After the second term the Director cannot be reconsidered for at least one year.
